The training is grounded in our national research, Keeping Secrets, and covers the legal and policy framework for pre-trial support, what best practice looks like in one-to-one and group settings, note-keeping, managing disclosures, working with consent and confidentiality, and responding to police requests for records. It is practical, interactive and evidence-based throughout.

 

The course is multi-agency and open to all services supporting children, young people and adults within the criminal justice process, whatever the offence type. This includes therapy services across the statutory and voluntary sectors, Independent Sexual Violence Advisors (ISVAs), Independent Domestic Violence Advisors (IDVAs), advocacy services, social care, police, the Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) and the judiciary.

 

Training is delivered by our national team of associate trainers, all of whom are specialists in pre-trial therapy and support. Whole-service training can be delivered at your premises or online. Services are welcome to share the cost by inviting partner organisations to join the day.
