Our learning events are standalone online sessions open to practitioners across the statutory and voluntary sectors. Each session draws on Bluestar's national research, best practice standards and clinical expertise to address a specific aspect of the response to child sexual abuse. Sessions can be booked individually or as a programme of learning for your organisation or partnership.
Working with Lived Experience: Participation, Co-production and Leadership
This session introduces best practice approaches to participation and co-production with children, young people and families affected by sexual abuse. We explore what meaningful involvement looks like at every stage of service design, delivery and evaluation, and how to build the structures that enable children and families to lead, not just contribute.

Best Practice Commissioning for CSA Services
This session introduces best practice approaches to commissioning services for children, young people and families who have experienced sexual abuse. We explore the current challenges of funding CSA services and the benefits of working towards joint commissioning arrangements that enable coordinated care across local areas. Participants are guided through a range of commissioning models and structures to support their thinking for their own area.

Best Practice Children's Service Design
This session introduces best practice approaches to designing joined-up multi-agency services for children, young people and families affected by CSA. We explore the evidence base for what works to promote both healing and systems change, alongside best practice examples from UK and international contexts, including Child House and Barnahus models, specialist voluntary sector approaches, health pathfinders and SARC-integrated services. The session considers how to build on existing service strengths, avoid duplication and keep the voice of the child central to delivery.

Multi-Agency Case Management Processes
This session introduces how to create joined-up multi-agency case management processes that ensure robust governance at a safeguarding board, strategic and frontline service level. We explore how multi-disciplinary interagency spaces coordinate the response for children after CSA, including information sharing, protocols, and case review mechanisms that enable effective monitoring of risk, safeguarding and assessment, while keeping the voice and choices of the child at the centre of care.

Data Recording and Evaluation for CSA Services
This session introduces how to develop effective data recording and best practice evaluation principles for monitoring child sexual abuse cases at a strategic, systems and service level. We explore available national data and prevalence estimates, the key indicators required to build robust datasets, how to calculate wait times effectively and how to use service-level data to drive systems change. The session also draws on international evaluation research to explore how to measure the impact of effective CSA support services and criminal justice responses.

Working in Education: Preventing, Discovering and Responding to Child Sexual Abuse
This session is designed for education professionals and explores how schools and education settings can prevent, identify and respond to child sexual abuse. Using a case study-based approach, we cover what CSA is, including child sexual exploitation (CSE), harmful sexual behaviour (HSB) and online harm, the silence around CSA and the barriers to disclosure, prevention frameworks across primary, secondary and tertiary levels, the difference between discovery and disclosure and how to respond, and the pre-trial therapy framework and what it means for education settings, including how third-party records may be requested as part of a criminal investigation.

Working with Children and Young People After Harmful Sexual Behaviour
This session explores best practice in working with children and young people where harmful sexual behaviour (HSB) is present. We cover working with young people after HSB, the dilemmas that arise when working pre-trial or in cases that may be reopened, and how to apply best practice in an area where national guidance remains limited. The session draws on Bluestar's HSB guidance and uses a case study-based approach throughout.
